Hydrogen cyanide manufacturers concentrated in USA, Europe, China and Japan. USA hydrogen cyanide production accounted for 37.63% of the global production in 2017, followed by Europe with 33.14% market share. China takes about 13.47% of global hydrogen cyanide production in 2017.
Most hydrogen cyanide manufacturers also produce the downstream products such as adiponitrile, DL-methionine or sodium cyanide. The hydrogen cyanide was usually produced on-site and transported to the downstream production line by pipeline. The global average hydrogen cyanide capacity utilization rate is about 88.61% in 2017.

Meanwhile, China hydrogen cyanide production rose from 175.8 K MT in 2013 to 256.6 K MT in 2017. Downstream demand was relatively stable.
In the coming few years, global capacity of hydrogen cyanide may increase to 2382 K MT in 2024 while the production is about 2153.7 K MT.
