The stearates used in grease mineral oil systems are mostly calcium stearate, aluminum stearate, lead stearate, lithium stearate, magnesium stearate, zinc stearate and other metal salts , the amount added is a few percent to more than ten percent of the mineral oil. The stearate in the grease mainly plays the role of gelling, increasing the pour point and increasing the consistency. Lubricating oil can be thickened by adding fatty acid calcium and the like to obtain lubricating grease. Greases containing complex aluminum soaps can be obtained by reacting aluminum isopropoxide with stearic acid and benzoic acid. When aluminum soap barium soap, calcium soap mixture, lithium soap or sodium soap are mixed with 1% fish oil fatty acid lead and vulcanized modified oil, the prepared grease has extreme pressure resistance. Lithium stearate with hydroxyl groups can also be used to manufacture high-pressure grease.
